Purple Friday

We have managed to acquire 1000 (300 for Illawarra Clubs and 700 for the District clubs). Illawarra Clubs instigated this initiative through Escabags a local charity working to support victims of Domestic Violence.

You will be able to purchase T-Shirts for $8 through TryBooking -flyer attached. Buy your t-shirt/s now.

Wear these shirts to the activities you have planned in your local area and also during the two weeks of action (end of November and first 2 weeks of December). We also encourage you to wear the t-shirts every Friday-making "Purple Friday" an important way of raising awareness of the impact of domestic violence on our communities.

Further get your local organisations and schools to be involved-this can have an important impact on raising awareness and starting conversations.

Illawarra Walk 30 November 2024 - postponed  until 2025

Unfortunately the planned Illawarra Rotary Clubs and local organisations to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence in our community had to be cancelled due to rain.

In 2025  will walk from Kiama Black Beach and return to Kiama Black Beach. The walk is approximately 2.1 kilometres. There is an incline down for the start of the walk and uphill to the finish. A water station will be available halfway and toilets. A map of the of the walk is on the reverse side of the flyer.

On completion of the walk there will be presentations on the impact of domestic violence by leaders in domestic violence and by local police. Seating will be available and resources on domestic violence by local agencies. Updated flyer to be posted soon. Buy your t-shirt online
